Give yourself the time and space for a nourishing and rejuvenating yoga practice, in nature.
What are Slowdown Sundays
Slowdown Sundays are like mini retreats.
I’ll guide you through a luscious, long yoga practice, 2½ hours. You’ll move, breathe and then rest through Asana (physical practice), a long guided Savasana, as well as Pranayama (yogic breath control) and Meditation.
Where are they held
The location is a wonderfully peaceful space on a Surrey farm, surrounded by fields and horses. Depending on the date, we’ll either be in a warm yurt (also known as Yurtie), or we’ll be in the farm’s new space (the Enchanted Studio).
What kind of yoga will we practice?
The Asana will be a mixture of dynamic, flowing and static postures (influenced by Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Vinyasa) along with a wonderful fusion of Restorative and Yin postures.
Don’t worry if you don’t know what this means. Come along anyway and enjoy a whole-body, mind and spirit experience.
What’s lovely about these events, is how long you practice for: 2½ hours. This gives you plenty of time to immerse yourself in the practice and to go into deeper relaxation.
Overall, my intention is to help you let go of physical tension and mental gripping, so you can fully relax all parts of your body and mind. Perhaps even connecting to your true peaceful Self.
Plus, practicing in the yurt/studio and nature setting is cosy and comforting, in the best possible way.
Who are Slowdown Sundays for
Slowdown Sundays are ideal if you’ve got recent, consistent yoga experience.
And, although Slowdown Sunday practices aren’t advanced, they’re not suitable for complete beginners. That’s because I won’t be explaining postures and alignment like I do in my beginners classes.
Also, if you practice sporadically, only ever practice online, or only just started yoga before lockdown, I recommend attending my beginners classes first. They’re still physical but I provide a lot more information about how to ‘do’ the postures. And about how to breathe.
At my Slowdown Sunday events you’ll:
- discover more about yoga
- go ‘deeper’ than in a regular class
- enjoy the peace of the nature setting
- be amongst like-minded, friendly yoga friends
- move, breathe, relax and rest with my guidance and support
– £29 earlybird price available up to 14 days before
– £35 regular price thereafter
What if I used to do yoga a lot but haven’t practiced in ages?
Welcome back! I’ll make sure there’s options for all levels of energy and ability (although this event won’t be suitable for complete beginners). I’ll keep things at an accessible pace and observe what’s happening at all times so you feel safe to relax and be in the moment.
I’m a beginner, can I come?
Although Slowdown Sunday practices aren’t advanced, they’re not suitable for complete beginners, I’m sorry. That’s because I won’t be explaining the postures and alignment like I do in beginners classes.
If you’re a complete beginner, try my beginners classes first.
Will there be social distancing?
I’ll be following the government guidelines and the guidelines of my professional body. Also, currently I’m keeping class numbers smaller to give you more space as we ease back into being in-person.
Can I get a refund?
You can have a full refund if there’s a complete government lockdown again, i.e no group indoor classes are allowed, or you can choose to transfer your payment to a future Slowdown Sunday event in this situation.
If you change your mind about coming, but the event is still legally allowed to go ahead, there’s no refund available, but you can transfer your payment to a future Slowdown Sunday if you give notice to me by email at least 7 days before the date of the event. Any less than 7 days notice there’s no refund available, and no transfer option.
Thanks for understanding.
How do I book?
All you need is your payment card to pay online (I use Stripe as my secure payment processor).
I’d like to come but have a question before I decide
If you’d like to come but something is on your mind, please do get in touch so we can have a chat.
